PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST
The Lord Fairfax Soil & Water Conservation District headquartered in Strasburg, VA is seeking a full-time or part-time, up to 20 hours/week, Program Support Specialist. Core responsibilities (part-time) will include a range of administrative duties in support of contracts for the installation of agricultural Best Management Practices, as well as contact with landowners. Full-time position would include the core administrative duties, plus additional programmatic work tailored to the strengths and interests of the successful candidate and may include agricultural, residential, and education responsibilities. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, and agriculture or natural resources experience required. Primary duty station will be the SWCD office in Strasburg, VA, with some travel throughout the SWCD service area of Clarke, Frederick, Shenandoah and/or Warren Counties. Potential candidate must have knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs, be a self-starter, detail-oriented and willing to work in a team environment. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of GIS is preferred. Part-time position would include hourly compensation, and not eligible for benefits. Full-time position salary range is $35,000- 45,000, commensurate with knowledge and experience. Health, retirement and leave benefits provided for full-time position only. Work may require some use of employee’s own vehicle with work related mileage reimbursed at State rate. Valid Virginia driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance required.
